Here's the story
Looking back on it now, I think I was a pretty boring kid. I never pushed boundaries. I rarely tried to stand out. I didn’t make art. I just tried to be cool.
As I got older, I realized that a critical variable in the coolness equation was effort. The more I tried to be cool, the less cool I actually was.
There’s a big difference between a lack of effort and apathy. You do have to care if you want to be cool. You have to make an effort to seek out hobbies and activities that you genuinely enjoy.
Find the things where it takes no effort to try hard, and you’ll notice something interesting: people tend to think that is cool.
I was forced to take an art course in college. I was nervous because I had never done anything artistic before. It turned out that I loved it. And I didn’t care if people thought this new passion of mine was weird—to be clear, it is weird.
Everything you’ll find for sale on this site is art that I think is cool. These are designs I would proudly wear without fear.
MVDMVXCOOLSUPPLY is a self-sustaining source of energy for me. I’m genuinely not seeking riches or fame. I’m just leaning unapologetically into one of my passions. And if this brings my customers even 1% of the joy it brings me, that feels like a win.
You’ll notice the phrase “This was drawn/painted/remixed by a human being” throughout the product descriptions. I am a human being, and I made every bit of art on this site—yes, including the not-so-descriptive product descriptions.
If you like what you see, that alone is an amazing form of payment. And if you like it enough to purchase something, that truly means a lot to me.
